Sapari’ with the support of the Danish government and the Danish Center for Gender and Equality, KVINFO, conducted a comprehensive research study on economic violence against women in the regions of Kakheti and Adjara. The face-to-face interview method (CAPI) was used in the quantitative research, which targeted women aged 16-45 who had at least one-year long experience of living with an intimate partner. The study was conducted in January 2023.
The main objective of the study was to look into cases of economic violence committed against women living in these areas by spouses or partners. The purpose of the study was to examine women’s experiences regarding this type of abuse.
Economic violence is defined in this study as an act by which an abuser limits, manipulates, and takes advantage of a woman’s economic resources and potential. The paper’s main goal is to look into the prevalence and recognition of different types of economic violence against women in intimate relationships.
