Tea Godoladze Сase Analysis

On December 18, 2024, the Tbilisi Court of Appeals issued a verdict in the case of Tea Godoladze, acquitting a man previously convicted of domestic violence.

We consider the appellate court’s decision, as well as the ruling previously issued by the Tbilisi City Court on June 7, 2022 in the same case, to be an example of gender-insensitive justice and a clear illustration of systemic discrimination. In this regard, we present our assessment in the attached document, which “Sapari” will also submit to the Supreme Court of Georgia as the victim’s position in the case.

Since 2022, “Sapari” has been representing Tea Godoladze’s interests before investigative bodies and courts. In light of the current circumstances, we reaffirm our full support and commitment to continue the fight before the Supreme Court.
